February: Brain Breaks
Brain breaks help a student take a break, and re-energize the brain to begin focusing again. Many students can focus for a length of time that equals their age plus two minutes. These breaks can take a maximum of 2 minutes and suffice to help a student refocus. Typically the break is something physical that can be done right at their desk. They are mental breaks designed to help students stay focused and attentive. The brain breaks get students moving to carry blood and oxygen to the brain. The breaks energize or relax. The breaks provide processing time for students to solidify their learning.
